Woodinville, WA – The U.S. Department of Education has awarded National Credit Services, Inc. (NCS), a position under its privileged student loan Default Collection Services contract and private collection agency (PCA) program. This small-business set aside contract will run through 2019.
The Federal Student Aid unit (FSA), manages the multi-billion dollar collection contract with a select number of agencies to administer collection and resolution activities for defaulted student loan accounts.
NCS began subcontracting with large contract participant Account Control Technology, Inc. (ACT) in August 1, 2010. Over the past three plus years, NCS has assisted thousands of student loan borrowers with loan rehabilitation programs and resolution of defaulted loans. NCS has achieved excellent performance rankings and maintains its top position among other sub-contract agencies.
In January of 2014, NCS earned the first-ever Robert J. Prince Award for outstanding performance as a subcontractor. NCS's strong performance on the 2009 sub-contract ultimately secured their award of the 2014 small business contract.
"We are extremely honored to receive this contract award from the Department of Education," said Haidari Sarajy, President of NCS. "We owe this success to the NCS team for their hard work and accountability. Their commitment to respectfully communicating with ED borrowers and following compliance guidelines has made this all possible.”
This award creates opportunity, nearly tripling the size of NCS's employee base, and creating many new jobs over the next 12 months. NCS has begun hiring to prepare for the expanded business which will ramp up this winter and become fully operational in the third quarter of 2015. Positions available will include debt collection and counseling, training, quality assurance, compliance, human resources and supervisory positions.
